Sharing links in live chats just got even easier. We’ve said a thousand times here at ClickDesk that a picture is worth more than a thousand words when it comes to online support, but sometimes a link is worth a thousand pictures. When customers and web visitors are looking for a particular page or wondering how to access something on your site or app, our new Goto URL option makes it easy to share a clickable link in the chat window.
The Goto URL option is an automatic feature. Just use the /goto URL command (\goto on Skype), where URL is a full URL address such as https://www.clickdesk.com, and the person you’re chatting with will receive a message offering to let them open the link in a new window.
For example, let’s say that one of our customers pings us over chat and is wondering how to login to their ClickDesk live chat account. We can send them a direct, clickable link by typing this command into the chat window:
This generates a message about the link with Yes and No options. The customer is then able to click “Yes” and open the link in a new window in their browser.
